Let’s be honest working from home is hard. That’s why creating the perfect work from home morning routine can be an essential step in ensuring you actually get sh*t done.
Today I am sharing five habits you can add to your morning routine that will set you up for a successful and productive day.
Wake Up Early
I know everyone loves their beauty sleep but I promise if your goal is to maximize productivity or just start your day off with some quiet time, waking up early is the way to go!
When you get up early especially when working from home you give yourself the necessary time to prepare for work/ get in the working mode.
Pro Tip: Gradually set your alarm back 10 mins every 3 days to help make this easier for you.
We have so much to be grateful for. Though working from home might be a bit inconvenient, I challenge you to list out 3 things you are grateful for every morning.
One of those could simply be, your job. There are unfortunately so many people who are currently unemployed.
It may be difficult to focus on work at home.
You might be sick of all the ZOOM Meetings.
But I still highly encourage you to try and look at the positives.
Encouraging positive thoughts is a great way to start your morning and set the tone for the rest of the day.
As I previously mentioned, it can be hard to focus on work when you are working and living in the same space. One way to help break up the time between getting out of bed and going straight to work is to exercise.
I would highly recommend doing this outside if possible to get some fresh air but if this is not an option, a quick inside sweat session can get your blood flowing and ready to take on your daily task.
Wait. You’re probably so confused, why would I suggest getting dressed when the best part of WFH is that you get to stay in pajamas. I know, I know, not what you want to hear. But this goes back to tricking your mind into thinking you’re actually going into the office / a productive space.
If you were to stay in pajamas you are kinda confusing your brain because it normally associates that with sleeping and relaxing. So not only can this affect your productivity during the day but also your sleep.
It can be as simple as combing your hair and putting on makeup to start, doing something to help you feel more put together will ensure productivity.
To-Do lists are ideal to help organize your thoughts for the day.
When you take a few minutes to jot down and prioritize your must do’s for the day, you save yourself so much time in the long run.
Benefits of To-Do List:
– This helps ensure you don’t feel frantic during the day
– You don’t forget to do something that was urgent
– Provides you with a guide of how your day will/ should go.
Implementing these steps into your work from home morning routine will lead to a super productive day!
